H. Loren Nielsen leads DTS’ cinema business where, in collaboration with content and theatre owners, she ensures a flow of top-tier movies featuring DTS:X immersive sound to theatres. Loren also works with the advanced technology groups at DTS/Xperi to support the development of technologies that enable more people to experience the next generation of immersive sound, sensing and imaging technology in cinemas, television and mobile devices worldwide. For over twenty-five years, Loren has crafted strategy and content for media companies developing cutting-edge digital technology in media and entertainment. Her years of work with digital cinema technology leaders, studios and filmmakers was instrumental to the acceptance and implementation of the digital cinema ecosystem.
Loren is a passionate activist in the content creator community, developing and promoting services and opportunity for women and youth, with the goal of building a more vigorous and diverse industry. She serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Hollywood Professional Association (HPA) and International Cinema Technology Association (ICTA) and on the Advisory Boards of the Digital Entertainment Group’s (DEG) Canon Club and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Academy Gold mentoring programs.
