Carys graduated from the Media Technology course at Salford University in 2014 and joined Sky as a broadcast engineer supporting Sky’s MAM systems and the content workflows that encompass them.
Carys moved into the Emerging Technologies Design team as an Associate in 2016 and is now a Design Engineer.
Her everyday work is varied and includes, but is not limited to: UHD and HDR related research, workflow/solutions design and project delivery; Picture quality and encoding solution evaluation; POCs and internal Technology demonstrations; Authoring technical guidelines, and defining 3rd party delivery requirements.
Carys is a former RISE mentee and RTS Thames Valley Young Technologist. She is passionate about seeing new talent enabled to pursue fulfilling careers in TV and Cinema engineering and is also a current member of SMPTE UK’s board of managers.
